Day 1: Arrive in Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport/railway station you will be transferred to the hotel in Delhi. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi - Tour Old & New Delhi

Today after breakfast, proceed on a tour of Old Delhi, with a visit to Jama Mosque, the largest mosque in India, built-in 1650 AD. Drive past Red Fort (closed on Mondays), 1639-48 built by Emperor Shah Jehan, creator of The Taj Mahal. Later visit Raj Ghat - the site of the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and Shanti Vana - the memorial of Independent India’s first Prime Minister, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. Later drive past through the Embassy area (Diplomatic enclave), Government buildings - Parliament House and Presidents House and India Gate. Then visit Qutab Minar, built-in 1193 in the Persian style of architecture. Also, visit Humayun's Tomb - this magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure, the most notable features are the garden squares (Chahar bagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. Day 3: Delhi – Mathura (Approx 183 km / 3 hrs)

Today you will proceed to Mathura - one of the capitals of Kushan King Kanishka (130AD) the abode of Lord Krishna and it has a great religious sanctity among the Hindus. It also has one of the oldest historical records in the epic Ramayana. Visit Lord Krishna Temple. Overnight at the hotel in Mathura. (B)

Day 4: Mathura – Agra (Approx 75 km / 2 hrs)

Today you will proceed to Agra - in the 16th and 17th centuries was the capital of Mughal India and its superb monuments date from that era. It has a magnificent fort and a building which so many people come to India solely to see the Taj Mahal. On arrival check into the hotel. Later tour Agra Fort, the original red sandstone fort built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. The Forts maze of courtyards, its marble mosque, and lavish private chambers reflect the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. Visit Taj Mahal-the mausoleum of Empress Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved spouse of Shah Jahan, who died in 1630. Overnight at the hotel in Agra. (B)

Day 5: Depart Delhi

This morning you will be transferred to Delhi airport/ railway station to board your flight/train back home or to your next destination.
